This page outlines the reading curriculum for our annual emergency medicine curriculum.  The primary curriculum includes the most recent Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine (9th Edition), Rosen’s Emergency Medicine (9th Edition), and Robert’s and Hedges’ Clinical Procedures in Emergency Medicine (6th Edition) seminal textbooks in emergency medicine.  Each block is designed to correspond with the topics taught in PGY 1 – PGY 4 small groups during weekly conferences.  Rosen’s and Roberts & Hedges are designed to be read over the course of one year each, while Tintinalli’s over 2 years (phase A, then Phase B).  Each chapter is available to our residents for free; Tintinalli’s via the Einstein Digital Library (follow registration and login instructions, whether at work or at home) and Robert’s & Hedges and Rosen’s via Montefiore Clinical Key (which must be accessed on the Jacobi, Montefiore, or SecureAccess Networks).  Additionally, each block’s curriculum is followed by further recommended reading and FOAMEd resources; additional reading is recommended by PGY-class.

This curriculum was designed and published by Stephen Meigher, M.D.; Chief Resident, and Class of 2022.

Corresponding weekly small groups were designed by Michael Tarr, M.D. and Sowmya Sanapala, M.D.; Chief Residents, and Class of 2022.

This curriculum page is maintained yearly by the Conference, Junior Education, and Senior Education Chiefs.
