Brady Psych Patient

A patient presented to the ED with depression. He was medically cleared and referred to the psych ED for evaluation. The next day, psych cleared the patient for discharge and sent the patient back to the medical ED for a heart rate of 50. On return arrival to the ED, the patient appeared well and his HR was in the 60s. While he was being watched, the nurse noted that the patient’s HR dropped to the high 30s momentarily. The patient remained well with a strong pulse. An EKG was done. How do we proceed?

One comment

  1. did he OD on BB?
or did he get atypical antipsychotic while at CPEP?
or is he on home SSRIs for his depression and this is normal for him?
